Sustainability
Sustainability is not just a buzz word for us. It’s all about efficiency and rationality, not only from an environmental point of view but on every perspective that can impact it. That is why we believe today’s challenge is no longer just "do it better than before". Yes, do things better than before is obviously still a goal but you really make a difference if you can do them better while spending less. That is the true meaning of sustainability to us.
We see sustainability in 3D! In a way it is a cinematic and deeper view that shows the interdependency between its main 3 dimensions:
Economic
We had to think our business model through the entire value chain and optimize every bit of it and the economics resulting from it were expected to be great and they are. Searching for efficiency, by rationalizing and reducing waste, we can save you 50% of the supplier’s maintenance fee to keep your ERP system running like a charm. The support services we provide are a great input to sustainable businesses as it means less financial needs every year and lower running costs for your operation.
Environmental
We have reduced our paper consumption to nearly zero as remaining paper consumption is mainly due to statutory obligations. We recycle every recyclable item (paper, packages, plastics, electronic equipment, etc…) that we use which was reduced our wate volumes by 60%. All our equipment and devices have the energy saving options active and we have reduced our management team’s business travel by one third to a record low in 2014 despite the commercial expansion.
Social
Our team has embedded sustainability naturally on its daily work activities but we have taken another step encouraging that our staff to carry out their activities without coming to the office. They can work from home or from whenever they may be, saving time and money on travelling to work. This way we give our people the chance to improve their home work balance while contributing to reduce the consumption of fossil fuels and waste resources in big office spaces that actually do not add any value to our activity or to our clients business.
So can we claim DOWIT is a green company? Well, we do have kind of a green logo! But what really matters is that we are doing our bit on the sustainability path.
And we will continue to improve our sustainability to provide a truly sustainable service to our clients because it has to be the way we are in the market… in this world.
